About
Kimberly Long
As a solo traveler, there are three things at the top of my list: connect with nature and people, get my blood pumping with an adventure and experience all the beauty of the place I’m visiting. And isn’t this what we all desire?!
As a bonus, I accidentally discovered another favorite aspect of travel that I now look for. Until my friend invited me on a bike tour with ten other friends, I had not realized how much I would appreciate a tour-guided trip. It took away all the stress of planning each day, and added the pamper element that made this one of my favorite vacations ever!
Sisters, this is exactly why I’m so thrilled … because I will be offering you all of these favorite things in a retreat through Christian Luxury Vacations!
After leading a singles group for six years, coordinating events every weekend and inviting singles from all over the Texas Hill Country, I gained knowledge of all the amazing places I’ll be sharing with you. I’m offering three types of packages so you can choose the one that best fits your fitness level and travel lifestyle, never taking away from the luxury element.
Solo women travelers — married and single, ages 16 and up — join us for the adventure of a lifetime — a vacation like no other!
Extra fun facts about me:
- Our singles group started from me being lonely because of not having any plans one Easter that happened to fall on my birthday. I now plan fun things for holidays. It started with seven people floating the river, turning into 120 people from all over the Hill Country by the end of the six-year span. Covid ended the group, but an amazing result is that seven couples fell in love and married from this group in those six years.
- On weekends that I didn’t have plans I would pinch out a Google map and find rivers, trails or parks I hadn’t yet discovered and go exploring. This is one way I discovered all the hidden gems!
- When I first moved to Kerrville, in 2013, I didn’t know many people, so on weekends I’d take my Kindle, low-rider lawn chair, thermal bag full of snacks and drinks, and go sit in the river close to flowing water and just read for hours. I’ve found the most refreshing and peaceful places away from the crowds.
- My favorite sports are mountain biking and paddle boarding. The main place I paddle is magical — the river turns into a canopy of trees with birds echoing their songs, and my halfway resting place is at a small rapid with light filtering through the trees. This is one place I can’t wait to share with everyone!
- My favorite things to do in my spare time are: cooking or baking — especially if someone else will clean — photography (don’t tell, but I will trespass for a great shot; almost all of the website pics are from my personal gallery), gardening, reading, and organizing — I know, weird — I really love to organize!
- I had a terrible experience in Costa Rica — yes, beautiful Costa Rica! I felt unsafe physically at one point and spiritually all week. I want to go back but to a totally different place and experience a whole new stay at a safe venue. I’ll tell you more in person, but this is one of the reasons why it’s important for me to offer this safe place for women.
